We at Clitheroe Cricket Club are delighted to announce that Helen Hewitt has agreed to become the new chair of the cricket section.
Helen succeeds Amanda Hall who has stepped down due to work and family commitments. Amanda has been an important part of the club's growth and success over the last 3 years and we are very grateful for all her efforts.
Helen is a successful businesswomen who has become involved with cricket and our club through her 2 sons; both of whom are promising cricketers within our our junior section. Helen takes over the stewardship of the cricket club at what is an exciting juncture, as we approach our inaugural Lancashire League campaign.
In the only other major changes to emerge from the AGM, league-winning 3rd team skipper Robert Dinsdale stood down to be replaced by Richard Blackburn. Richard's appointment continues a long legacy of involvement of the Blackburn family within our club. Again we thank Robert for his time running the 3rds. Robert has been integral in bringing old players back to the club and providing a structure in which our younger players can continue to thrive; we are sure he will continue to do the latter whilst running our under 9s 'b' side in 2017.
